The Global Surface AG, a spin-off company of the ETH Zürich, was established in 1997. Global Surface specializes in surface technology.

The properties of solids and liquids are strongly influenced by surface phenomena. At the interface of two phases, properties like wetting, adhesion and friction are determined by the degree of interaction between the phases. Controlling this interaction represents the major competence of the Global Surface AG.

The speciality of Global Surface AG is a novel patented method, which enables the coating of surfaces with thin and ultrathin layers down to 1 nanometer thickness. This method opens completely new possibilities for a multiplicity of coating applications.
